On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

• Greater understanding of what Marx and Engels wrote on Ireland, with special emphasis on colonialism as a social process.
• How Marx applied his dialectical analysis to the Irish colonial conditions.
• How Marx and Engels developed complex conceptual insights on nationalism, ethnicity and race in their investigation of the Irish colonial conditions in the nineteenth century.

Students are responsible for familiarising themselves with this deadline. No continuous assessment work will be accepted after this date.
