Credits: 5
Semester: 2
Department: PHILOSOPHY
International: Yes
Overview Overview

In the digital age, our interactions with technology have become an integral part of our daily lives. From social media to online shopping, from mobile devices to wearable technology, our use of digital tools and platforms is growing rapidly. As such, it is increasingly important for individuals and organizations to consider the ethical implications of these technologies and their impact on society.
This module will introduce students to the field of digital ethics, exploring key issues such as privacy, data protection, algorithmic bias, and the impact of technology on social and economic inequality. Students will learn how to identify and analyze ethical issues in the design and use of digital technologies, and will examine the various approaches to ethical decision-making in this context.
Through case studies, readings, and class discussions, students will develop a deeper understanding of the ethical dimensions of digital technology and the responsibilities that come with their use. The module will also encourage students to reflect on their own values and beliefs, and to consider how they can contribute to building a more ethical and responsible digital society.
