On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

• Recognize and describe in detail various forms of musical dissonance
• Recognize, describe in detail and write various forms of consonance (added diatonic chords)
• Recognize and describe in detail various forms of modulation, directly and indirectly, and identify tonalities and their relationships and tonicization
• Recognize, describe in detail, notate, and resolve in SATB format various forms of chromatic chords
• Complete a short passage of four-part notated music using advanced chords, dissonances, and modulatory techniques.
