On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

• Comprehend how brands are linked to their organizations and what implications this has for brand management;
• Understand customer-based brand equity and how it can be created, managed, and utilized;
• Discuss the role brands play in consumer self-expression and what implications this has for brand managers;
• Understand why and how consumers can form relationships with brands;
• Comprehend the foundations and consequences of brand communities; and
• Identify and explain the role certain brands can play in our modern society, how this comes about, and what consequences this has.

• The delivery of this module will involve a combination of lectures and other teaching techniques, such as case studies, videos, class discussion, problem solving exercises, and self-directed learning. Learning resources will include academic textbooks and other sources, such as refereed academic journals, practitioner publications, nominated websites, and video presentations.
