	The module will address the changing character of war since the end of the First World War through to the twenty-first century, and will examine the evolution of military thought and practice throughout this period. It will cover a wide range of issues and students will analyse the conduct of war on land, sea and in the air in a variety of wars and conflicts around the globe.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Identify key phases in the development of warfare during the period in question. Discuss key technological developments and their impact. Show an awareness of the main theorists in strategic thought during the relevant period. Display knowledge of key debates and the main archival sources and publications. Discuss these elements in an informed and articulate manner.
