On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

• Identify key developments in terms of the Georgian home in Britain and Ireland
• Demonstrate an ability to engage with primary sources, based on material introduced in seminars.
• Demonstrate analytical skills through completing an essay and additional continuous-assessment assignment.
• demonstrate capacity to present written work that conforms to the professional citation conventions specified in ‘Rules for contributors to Irish Historical Studies’.

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): Total Marks 100%. 5,000 word essay or shorter essay combined with class assignments/tests. Essay to be submitted by Monday prior to commencement of end-of-semester examinations.

• Pass standard: 40%
• Could the result of this module be capped? The Continuous Assessment component for Autumn resit is eligible to be capped.
• Penalties: No late material accepted unless medical or other compelling reasons are established in writing. The expectation is for full attendance by students. Module requires active in-person participation and/or essential practical exercises.

• Are supplemental/resit registrations permitted? Yes
• The essay/project component only may be submitted. There will be no repeat of other continuous assessment components. Marks received during the semester in respect of in-class tests, presentations etc., will be carried over. Essays/projects for autumn repeat must be submitted by 1 August.
