The primary goal of this introductory Python course is to provide students with a solid foundation in Python programming and enable them to use it for various applications in the future.

Indicative Syllabus:

• Introduction to computer architecture and the main components of a computer system
• Introduction to algorithm design and pseudocode
• Python basic data types and variables
• Operators and expressions
• Basic input/output
• Booleans and comparisons
• Conditional statements (if/else)
• Loops (for/while)
• Break, continue, and pass statements
• Python data structures (e.g. lists, tuples, dictionaries and sets)
• Calling functions that someone else has defined
• Writing your own functions
• Working with files (reading/writing)
• Error checking and Exception handling
