The purpose of this module is to critically explore central issues in educational leadership through a range of theoretical approaches. This will be done by taking the students own practice as the starting point and placing it within a broader matrix of concepts. Deconstructing perceptions, ideas and experiences of power, agency, structure, autonomy, diversity and inclusion provides perspectives for critical examination of current issues in educational leadership. Students will work individually and in small groups to progress their thinking. Group discussions and individual work will be used to develop students’ capacity to articulate their conceptualisations. Overall, this module is designed to support students in the conceptual development of their work.
