This module will look at curriculum as networked, relational and transversal. This holistic approach to curriculum draws and connects to/with/in all aspects of life: cultural, natural, historical, political, ecological, theological, aesthetic and the autobiographical. It will explore how knowledge is negotiated and go beyond the taken for granted and already defined, the predetermined positions and habitual ways of thinking, talking and doing.
The postmodern themes of diverse and pluralistic understanding of gender, race, sexual identity, ethnicity, culture, and religion will be explored in relation to curriculum using case studies from Ireland and other jurisdictions.
