	Overview
	Working in small groups in a keyboard lab, students will develop competency at the keyboard and learn a range of keyboard skills compliant with Teaching Council requirements for Music at post-primary level. The module is not available to students who have taken group piano during year 1 and/or 2. The module is not available to students who have taken first-study piano or organ during year 1 and/or 2.

Overview

Working in small groups in a keyboard lab, students will develop competency at the keyboard and learn a range of keyboard skills compliant with Teaching Council requirements for Music at post-primary level. 	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Sight reading Demonstrate the scales and arpeggios of the most commonly used keys. Harmonise a melody and be able to play it with chords. Transpose a melody with chords up or down a tone. Demonstrate accompanying skills in a range of styles.

	Autumn Supplementals/Resits
	Are supplemental/resit registrations permitted? Yes Keyboard skills tests cannot be repeated during the Supplemental Examination Period in August, except under very exceptional circumstances, with the written approval of the Module Coordinator and the Head of Department.

	Pre-Requisites
	Only open to students who have not taken first-study piano/organ or group piano during year 1 and/or 2.

	Co-Requisites
	Not available to students taking MU352 Keyboard Skills
