On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

Demonstrate a level of Academic English usage that is consistent with overall CEFR C1.2 through completion of assessment procedures and tasks that simulate authentic EAP language abilities and critical skills in Higher Education study;

Design and deliver an academic presentation relating to a relevant EAP topic using a technological, slide-based format incorporating text, graphics/diagrams with appropriate (C1.2) oral commentary in support;

Read academic texts with an excellent level of understanding and critical awareness of stance, evaluation, perspective, objectivity, subjectivity, connections/relationships and sources;

Make highly accurate academic notes from lectures, including visual information, and show ability to summarize, organize and paraphrase content as required;

Produce written language in an appropriate academic style at both paragraph and essay level.
