The module will explore key psychological processes, theories and concepts in relation to early childhood (birth – 6years). Theories of attachment, gender identity, self-regulation, language development will be considered. The module will explore current research on developmental neuroscience and its relevance for learning, development and motivation in early childhood. Throughout the module, students will build on their own experiences, reflect on the interplay between theory and practice and apply theories to practice.
