On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

understand the dynamic processes by which curriculum is designed and implemented

apply knowledge of the individual potential of pupils, dispositions towards learning, varying backgrounds, identities and experiences to planning for teaching, learning and assessment

implement a range of methodologies to achieve planned outcomes

evaluate learner progress towards those outcomes

conduct and apply relevant research, as appropriate, to his/her teaching context: identifying, critically analysing and critically integrating new pedagogical insights into his/her practice

critically interrogate the process of curriculum development, design, implementation and evaluation
-
critically evaluate curriculum provision in the Irish context.
