In this module, the students will continue to explore game studies, and practical elements of video game design. Building on what was learned in Introduction to Video Game Design, we will explore how the skills and tools can be used to create compelling game experiences, for example through: intuitive virtual spaces, AI for non-player characters, environmental storytelling, effective use of audio, and difficulty settings.
We will explore the contemporary and possible future of video game design, such as the use of developer kits for modern game consoles, publishing on game platforms such as steam, and the emerging virtual reality game space, and the emerging Chinese market.
