Please read the registration guidance notes below very carefully before registering online via the Student Web. BCL Law and French Where a student has taken French as a Leaving Certificate subject, they take this language as a 15-ECTS subject in first year. This means that they must choose an additional 15-ECTS subject to complete the required 60 ECTS for First Year. In these circumstances, students have two options: - Register for a second language offered at non-Beginners’/post-Leaving Cert. level (i.e. German, Spanish, or Nua-Ghaeilge), provided that they have taken this language for the Leaving Certificate;
- Register for the subject Language and Culture (subject code ML1LSK) as a 15-ECTS subject in First Year, focussing on French.

BCL Law and Nua Ghaeilge Nua-Ghaeilge is only offered as a 15-ECTS subject for non-Beginners in first year. This means that all students must choose an additional 15-ECTS subject to complete the required 60 ECTS for First Year. In these circumstances, students have two options: - Register for a second language offered at non-Beginners’/post-Leaving Cert. level (i.e. French, German, or Spanish), provided that they have taken this language for the Leaving Certificate;
- Register for Critical Skills (subject code SK7USK) as a 15-ECTS subject in First Year.
