Required module
A required module is a module in a subject which must be passed without compensation in order to progress in that subject.
International module
An international module is a module available to short term, visiting international students registered with Maynooth University for either one semester or one academic year but who are not taking the full degree programme of study with Maynooth University.
Entry to this programme is competitive, and applicants are selected on the basis of academic record, relevant experience and, in some cases, interview. Applicants are normally expected to have achieved, as a minimum, a 60%+ average in years 1 and 2 of their degree programme. The year of study abroad will be with one of the Department of Law's approved partner universities.
Candidates approved to undertake this programme will return to Maynooth University to complete their final year and will be awarded the LLB (International) on successful completion of their studies.
Candidates approved to undertake this programme who do not successfully complete their year abroad must return to Maynooth University and complete years 3 and 4 of the LLB programme.
