• Engage in policy analysis of the specific areas of social policy addressed in this module and discuss the relationship between such analysis and the social work process.

• Outline the major theoretical perspectives and the key concepts and ideas in the study of organisation and management, and critically assess their usefulness and relevance in social work.
• Demonstrate an awareness of the key principles and procedures involved in the management and administration of social work organisations and agencies.
• Engage in informed discussion and debate about the economic dimensions of social work and social policy.
• Describe and discuss legislative provisions relating to social work practice in specific areas covered by the module.
• Apply principles of quality assurance and best practice approaches.
