This module offers an exploration of different social, political, and cultural changes in Latin America and their influence on the development of literary trends, from the Cuban revolution and the literary Boom in the 1960s to the dictatorships and the emergence of the new historical novel between the 1970s and 1990s. Students will examine a range of literary texts and films, evaluate and discuss their role in the representation of history and memory.
