The aim of this module is to introduce students to the major physiological systems of the human body, the concept of homeostasis, sources of energy and physiological responses to exercise relevant to health and performance in sport.

This module will begin by introducing students to the major physiological systems of the human body, including the cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary and endocrine systems. Students will learn about the concept of homeostasis and how these systems interact to maintain equilibrium. The sources of energy available in the human body will also be covered, along with metabolic and physiological responses to exercise relevant to health and performance in sport.
