	Overview
	The aim of this module is to discuss and appraise various post-PhD career pathways inside and outside of psychology and cognate areas for psychology PhD graduates. This includes discussion of academic, industrial, professional and other career routes available to PhD graduates in psychology; the examination of the barriers that may operate on such routes; and the development of a post-PhD career development plan.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Describe and appraise post-PhD pathways to an academic career in Psychology or cognate disciplines. Describe and appraise post-PhD pathways into professional practice in Psychology. Describe and appraise post-PhD pathways in careers and applications in industry, the broader public service and the voluntary sector. Describe and evaluate barriers to career development in psychology in various pathways and sectors. Develop a post-PhD career development plan.
