• Explain to a composer the main feature of his/her instrument/voice;
• Collaborate with a composer and provide performance input about the new composition at different stages of its composition;
• Evaluate the aesthetic and the performance challenges of a newly composed work;
• Perform a newly composed piece.

• Scheduled tutorials together with composition student with Lecturer in composition and/or Lecturer in Performance, and independent study/collaboration with composer-performer combinations.

• Module Graded (numeric value) or Ungraded (Pass/Not Passed): Graded
• Continuous Assessment detail(s): Written report about the collaboration and the preparation of the piece. The report should include examples of the different compositional stages of the piece and of the input provided by the performer and composer. The performer and composer may be requested to give a joint presentation of 10-15 mins in the second semester on the collaborative process (to include a performance of extracts of the work/rejected material as appropriate).
• Other detail(s): For performers: performance of collaboratively composed work (usually in a designated lunchtime concert in Semester 2) For composers: submission of score of collaboratively composed work
