• To provide researchers with an understanding of the principles of undertaking systematic literature reviews with the aim of providing a deep understanding of how existing and contemporary theory impacts on their research philosophy and design.

• Small group seminars or individual instruction by supervisor.

• Module Graded (numeric value) or Ungraded (Pass/Not Passed): Graded
• Continuous Assessment detail(s): Assessment will be conducted at Stage 2 of the School of Business and Law Structured progress review which normally takes place within 24 calendar months into the (full-time) student’s registration for doctoral studies. The assessment is by written document and panel interview, and is chaired by the Head of School or designate and two other academic panel members. A 10,000 word document including the following elements. 1. A documented account of the systematic literature review process undertaken by the student. 2. An annotated bibliography of the expanded literature review. 3. A critical review of the literature (minimum of 7,500 words).

• Pass standard: 50%
• Could the result of this module be capped? No
• The assessment for this module will be graded Pass, Distinction or Did Not Complete.
• Penalties: Standard School of Business and Law Penalties Apply

• Registration as a student on the structured doctoral programme in business/law/design/mediation
