This module introduces students to the theory of translation by exploring historical and contemporary debates that shape and influence translation practice in Europe and further afield. Each week is dedicated to a different approach, and will consider relevant case studies in different languages, geographies, and historical periods.

In addition to building on theoretical understandings of translation, this module will also provide students with an opportunity to work on their research and presentation skills, as well as translation analysis and criticism.
