This module concerns the law of real property in Ireland, ownership of land and the rights and responsibilities that arise under it. Students will be introduced to the concepts and the principles of property law, and the different estates or interests that can be held in land. In addition, the course will also include the ways in which interests in land are acquired, transferred and extinguished. We will also look at the sources of land law, including the changes introduced by the Land and Conveyancing Law Reform Act 2009 (LCLRA 2009).
Note: this module is offered in other programmes under code LW352 (Land Law). Students are not permitted to register for both modules.
