This module will discuss the diversity of political and development paths taken by post-colonial African states.
Key to this module is challenging the accepted representations of Africa which miss out the diversity of the continent and it’s growing economic and political influence.
Case studies from around the continent will demonstrate the variety of political and economic landscapes and equally the varied responses of the African state.
