The historiography of local history reflects a constantly evolving field of study that is influenced by a wide range of social, cultural and technological factors. While there is no one ‘correct’ way to approach the subject, the key is to remain open to new perspectives and to constantly reassess our assumptions and methods.
This module is concerned with the historiographical evolution of the study of local history in Ireland from the Middle Ages to the present.
