	Overview
	The assisted conception, development and delivery of an independent research project are key experiences that synthesise many aspects of undergraduate education and allow ownership of a topic in a significant and lasting way. This module will provide training in the development of a research project, and allow independent research to be carried out on an agreed topic with the assistance of University staff.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Demonstrate skills for undertaking independent research and for write up/presentation of results Identify and develop an appropriate geographical research topic Conduct self-directed primary and secondary research on an agreed geographical topic Introduce, discuss and analyze research findings in a relevant theoretical context Demonstrate effective writing and presentation skills
