On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

apply pedagogical expertise, including subject specific pedagogical content knowledge in their curriculum development, planning and enactment

use a range of strategies to support, monitor and assess pupils’ approach to learning and their progress – including effective feedback strategies

advance their communicative skills and ensure that their teaching is understood and practised as a form of self-critical learning, underpinned by opportunities for individual and collaborative reflection, and engagement in and with research

practice adaptive expertise through reflection in, on and with action

demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the importance of sharing professional learning in a collegial manner to support and enhance teaching and learning

apply knowledge of the individual potential of pupils, dispositions towards learning, varying backgrounds, identities, experiences to planning for teaching, learning and assessment

integrate relevant principles and theories of education, in the context of the relevant curriculum/syllabus, using well-developed skills of enquiry, to inform his/ her professional practice
