	Overview
	This module will develop the student�s necessary competence in the Irish language. Oral and written Irish-language assessments will be informed by the Common European Framework of Reference for languages. The student�s current-level competence in these areas will be tested at the beginning of the programme and this will be used in supporting students to identify and meet their own learning targets. Students will develop their communication, presentation skills, and grammatical accuracy across different language registers and genres.

Continuous Assessment detail(s): Written examination and oral Irish examination. (Exams must be passed individually at stated minimum pass standard). In Cumas na Gaeilge, that standard is in line with 70% at a B2 level in both oral, and writing & reading comprehension skills on the Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning (CEFR). Their final mark will be a combination of 50% - oral exam; 50% - written exam
