	The module will include the following elements: an introduction to five major world religious traditions and to the main Christian denominations in Ireland. It will examine some of the primary issues in contemporary interfaith and ecumenical dialogue.

The module will include the following elements: an introduction to five major world religious traditions and to the main Christian denominations in Ireland. It will examine some of the primary issues in contemporary interfaith and ecumenical dialogue.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Identify the principal world religions and Christian denominations currently present in schools in Ireland. Describe salient features of these religious traditions including elements of creed, code and cult in each. Articulate a vision for ecumenical and inter-religious dialogue. Critically evaluate the contribution of religions to dealing with issues of contemporary concerns in the fields of social justice, development and ecology.
