	Overview
	Through an engagement with Development and Intercultural Education (DICE), the contribution of education to global justice is examined. Issues such as poverty, social justice, fair trade, activism, culture, human rights and anti-racism will be explored theoretically and experientially as a model for classroom practice. Students will be invited to examine their own reflexivity and positionality through a focus on concepts such as ethnocentrism and white privilege. A range of data collection and analysis tools will be introduced and modeled, within a framework of action research as a living educational theory

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Develop a global justice lens and a praxis through which students critically evaluate the impact of work undertaken on the formation of active global citizens. Demonstrate an understanding of key policy documents in Intercultural Education and ability to plan a school based intercultural strategy within a whole-school approach Apply knowledge, reflection, analysis and action components of Development Education to plan and facilitate cross-curricular active lessons. Develop a critical awareness of how the images, messages, texts and learning resources in the classroom impact on inclusion or exclusion.
