Module code: EDF498
Credits: 2.5
Semester: 2
Department: FROEBEL EDUCATION
International: No
Overview Overview

This module looks at the exciting benefits of using the Jumpstarting Literacy and Numeracy strategies, particularly mental imagery, for all children in the modern classroom. It explores how anxiety affects both teacher’s & children’s performance and looks at simple and effective strategies to overcome it. It looks at how these strategies help create a calm and focused learning environment.

It also looks at how Dyslexia and Dyscalculia affects children’s learning. It explains how to explore the challenges around learning difficulties and how mental imagery can assist in overcoming, or at least minimising their effects, by using strategies that complement what is already being used, rather than replacing teaching methods that are already working.
