On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

Articulate a vision for religious education.

Express an understanding of the various stages of the history of religious education in Ireland.

Identify the various religious education programmes in use in Irish primary schools.

Describe some of the characteristics of each of these programmes.

Give a detailed account of the content and structure of one of these programmes (of their choice).

Engage in long-term and short-term planning for the teaching of religious education on their school experience.
-
Compose supplementary and complementary material to the programmes they will teach on School Placement.
