• State legislative requirements, policy guidelines, practices and procedures relating to child protection in Early Childhood settings;
• Outline the requirements necessary to provide for the health and well-being of infants and toddlers as informed by national guidelines to include child protection;
• Describe the factors that contribute to the overall well-being of infants and toddlers;
• Identify requirements for the promotion of healthy and safe indoor and outdoor environments for infants and toddlers;
• Perform appropriate personal care routines for infants and toddlers including the care of the child with additional needs or the child with common childhood illnesses;
• Implement appropriate policies and procedures to include record keeping as required by legislation and good practice guidelines;
• Identify the pedagogical importance of interactions between an educator and an infant or toddler during care routines such as feeding, changing, etc.

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): This module will be assessed through a range of work which can include: Reflective journal, Student portfolio, Observation tasks, Resource file, Policy audit, Presentation, Research paper, Curriculum development, Children’s work portfolio, etc.

• Satisfactory attendance is a requirement of this module.
