	Overview
	The purpose of this module is to critically explore central issues in educational leadership through a range of theoretical approaches. This will be done by taking the students own practice as the starting point and placing it within a broader matrix of concepts. Deconstructing perceptions, ideas and experiences of power, agency, structure, autonomy, diversity and inclusion provides perspectives for critical examination of current issues in educational leadership. Students will work individually and in small groups to progress their thinking. Group discussions and individual work will be used to develop students� capacity to articulate their conceptualisations. Overall, this module is designed to support students in the conceptual development of their work.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Demonstrate a critical understanding of differing perspectives of educational leadership research. Articulate an informed stance of theoretical underpinnings of educational leadership research. Interpret selected concepts in relation to the field of educational leadership. Relate the concepts explored in the module within their own professional contexts. Assess the importance of these concepts in their own professional development.
