	Overview
	This module provides students with the skills and competencies required to critically engage in the practice of guidance counselling in a school setting. It facilitates the integration and application of theory with professional and ethical practice. The school placement practice includes conducting vocational guidance interviews, personal counselling sessions, guidance-related group work, delivering guidance classes, participating in school care-team meetings, engaging in one-to-one meetings with mentoring guidance counsellor, and participating in all aspects of the management of the school guidance counselling service. As an extra support for trainee guidance counsellors related to school placement practice, small group-based supervision sessions are offered in Semester 2. These aim to mirror and prepare for the practice of professional supervision in which qualified guidance counsellors engage.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Demonstrate professional and ethical competence in conducting vocational guidance interviews, personal counselling sessions, guidance-related group work, and care-team meetings. Engage in professional conversations with mentoring guidance counsellor, and participate in all aspects of the management of the school guidance counselling service. Facilitate guidance-related group work in personal, educational and career development. Plan and deliver guidance classes with different year groups. Demonstrate advanced administrative skills pertaining to the role as a school guidance counsellor. Reflect critically on one�s own practice with the use of school placement journal. Demonstrate an openness to feedback and a willingness to adapt practice in response to feedback. Integrate theory, research and insights gained from other modules on the programme with school-based guidance counselling practice. Understand the rhythm and cycle of guidance counselling service across the school year.
