Overview Overview

Students will explore the main influences shaping human development and will be guided through a critical reflective understanding of the developmental tasks of the period of adolescence and the key variables which influence young people in contemporary society.

The course gives an overview of the developmental life span with particular emphasis on early years’ development and on the period of adolescence. This phase of the lifespan - its characteristics and its challenges - is critiqued through a social constructionist lens.
