• show a mastery of key concepts in STEM pedagogy
• develop skills in scientific enquiry, including the ability to interpret and analyse qualitative and quantitative data from different sources and to consider the validity and reliability of data in presenting and justifying conclusion
• develop skills in laboratory procedures and techniques, including the use of technology, carried out with due regard for safety, together with the ability to assess the uses and limitations of these procedures through engagement in a wide variety of practical activities
• combine content knowledge of STEM education with appropriate pedagogical strategies for inquiry-based science teaching and learning
• deploy a range of pedagogical methods to support students’ learning of STEM
• explore the needs of various groups of students and consider the range of factors that can influence learning outcomes
• demonstrate understanding of relevant assessment practices
• critically interrogate application of theory to practice in real contexts; develop strategies to embed literacy and numeracy into STEM teaching and develop critical thinking and research skills in STEM education.

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): Project. Students will try different instructional approaches in their classrooms and will consider aspects that facilitate and/ or impede development of learners’ science learning. They will also analyse research lessons from the perspectives of classroom interactions, differentiation and assessment practices.
