This course begins with an analysis of tools that are required to understand Advanced Macroeconomic Theory. Topics covered include difference equations, rational expectations and dynamic optimisation. The course then uses these techniniques to examine a range of topics that provide the foundations for advanced macroeconomic modelling. These include theories of market structure and price rigidity, consumption, the government budget constraint and the Neoclasscial model of economic growth. |
