• Identify and describe key theories of guidance and counselling as they apply in adult learning settings
• Enable participants to locate their own experience in a theoretical framework
• To explore operational, ethical and theoretical dimensions for the practice of guidance in learning settings
• Appreciate the complexity of adult development processes
• Apply and demonstrate understanding of the core guidance skills
• Demonstrate their understanding of key skills and knowledge in a group learning context
• Transfer the learning from the module into other appropriate learning settings and contexts within ethical boundaries
• Demonstrate that they have internalised the principles and skills of a counselling approach to adult guidance and be able to employ them at an appropriate level in learning settings

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): Mid Semester presentation: 20% End Semester essay (2,000 - 3,000): 80%

• Pass standard: 40%
