	Overview
	This module will introduce students to the theories relating to experiential reflective learning starting with the individual and widening it to include small groups and wider society; how reflective groups work, Foulkes and the matrix as the locus for free association and open communication, Winnicott�s concept of Holding, Bion and the container-contained. The experiential learning cycle; reflective practice in learning; creativity in adult learning; managing the emotional dynamics of learning; thinking as a social act; communication without language; feeling and thought.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Identify and describe key theories of adult learning and the key principles underpinning reflective practice and learning Understand the process of reflection as a method of experiential learning Apply relevant theories and insights to their own adult learning Understand the complexity of adult learning processes Apply and demonstrate understanding of the core theories and insights in relation to their own learning Demonstrate their understanding of key skills and knowledge in a group context Transfer the learning from the module into other appropriate learning settings and contexts Demonstrate that they have internalised the principles of a reflective approach to adult learning as an ongoing process
