This module will provide the students with a detailed understanding of the immune system, including the signalling pathways and effector molecules that mediate immune effector functions. Topics covered include: Pattern recognition receptors and their signalling pathways, anti-viral immune responses and viral Immune Evasion, Transplantation Immunology, Self-tolerance and Autoimmunity, cross-presentation, T cell activation and differentiation, and T cell exhaustion

This module is not available for previous Maynooth University students who have taken BI602 & BI405 (Advanced Immun 1).
