	Overview
	This module aims to provide fourth-year undergraduate students with a comprehensive understanding of global food security and sustainability issues. Students will examine the challenges and opportunities for achieving sustainable food systems that meet the needs of a growing global population while protecting the environment. The module will explore topics such as the impact of climate change on food production, food waste and loss, food distribution and access, sustainable agriculture, and the role of technology in addressing food security. Module Content: This module will be assessed with a formal class debate (10%) and associated short written assignment (10%) and written assessment (80%).

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Understand the complex global food system and its key actors and stakeholders. Analyse the impact of climate change, food waste and loss, and food distribution and access issues on food security. Evaluate sustainable agriculture practices, technology solutions, and nutrition strategies for promoting food security and sustainability. Evaluate policy and governance frameworks for food security and sustainability at the national and international level. Analyse future trends and challenges in global food security and sustainability, and evaluate the role of innovation and technology in addressing these challenges.
