	Overview
	Students work in a biotechnology company or academic research laboratory in a research, manufacturing, quality or clinical trials function. The student will be required to compile a detailed report on the outplacement, upon completion of same, and also give an oral presentation based on their outplacement experience. As a consequence of dependence on third parties, if a placement cannot be secured alternative arrangements for completion of module will be found.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Identify and list the business area(s) in which the placement company operates. Develop an understanding of the company structure and report same in the final written report. Describe the work programme carried out while on placement. Explain techniques and skills that were acquired while on work placement. Understand the main personality attributes for working as a successful team member. Prepare a detailed report that describes the responsibilities held, and duties performed, while on placement. Create and present an oral presentation that enables assessment of the work performed while on work placement. Demonstrate the ability to apply selected skills acquired while on placement.
