• Understand how practical Biology can be taught using an inquiry-led approach.
• Understand the framework for inquiry-led practical biology teaching developed at MU.
• Design and teach a LC biology practical incorporating an inquiry-led approach.

• Module Graded (numeric value) or Ungraded (Pass/Not Passed): Graded
• Continuous Assessment detail(s): Based on weekly pre-lab assignments, portfolio for field-ecology work, teaching plan for assigned LC experiment, folder for teaching assigned LC experiment. Assessed components may vary from year to year. Attendance and student contribution at all lectures and labs is expected. Final CA mark will be amended if student attendance is consistently poor and/or absences cannot be justified.

• Pass standard: 40%
• Could the result of this module be capped? See Continuous Assessment section
• Students must obtain at least 40% in all components of the continuous assessment. A not passed mark will be returned for students who do not achieve at least 40% in any continuous assessment component of the module. Such students will be allowed one resubmission for each not passed component.
• Penalties: Late submissions will be accepted with penalties.

• Are supplemental/resit registrations permitted? Yes
• No supplemental examination in the Autumn.

• BI210, BI204 MH212 3rd year Science Education Students only.
