	Overview
	Taking a broadly semiotic approach, this module introduces major concepts in the anthropology of religion, ritual, and performance, demonstrating a range of comparative theoretical and ethnographic approaches through which anthropologists study these aspects of human social life.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Apply anthropological concepts to the analysis of real-world issues. Explain how cultural categories discussed are articulated across different cultures. Indicate how the key concepts discussed in the module developed in the history of anthropology as a discipline
