• On successful completion of the module, including participating in all lectures and deep engagement with course literature, students should be able to: Show awareness of major theoretical developments in anthropology, particularly with reference to the ethnographies they are reading.
• Be able to comment on contemporary styles of ethnographic writing and identify diverse writing styles depending on the target audience.
• Reflect on the limits and boundaries of anthropological knowledge and ethnographic practice.
• Learn how to make an argument in an academic text.

• Teaching and learning methods will consist of a combination of lectures and discussion seminars, in which students will be invited to present their work and learn from peer review.
