On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

feel confident in her/his knowledge and understanding of how the relationships between personal minds and social-cultural phenomena have been approached by anthropologists over the past one hundred years or so.

critically assess these different traditions, including common sense notions of ‘human nature’ at large in European and North American societies.
