	Overview
	This module examines theoretical frameworks and key concepts in curriculum design. Its emphasis is principally technical as it equips learners to develop effective curricula in totality including researching a rationale, determining an overall aim for a programme, designing learning outcomes, and understanding the role of assessment and evaluation. Each of these practices are understood in the context of literature that critiques their implementation.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Demonstrate an understanding of national policy guidelines and applications processes involved in the validation and/or revalidation of major and minor awards. Prepare an award for validation in line with relevant national policy guidelines. Understand assessment of, for and as learning. Develop creative, innovative approaches to curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation.
