	Overview
	The module has two distinct parts. One part covers material specific to Accounting and the other one to Macroeconomics. For Accounting the following topics will be covered: Module content: The Finance Function, Introduction to Capital Markets and Sources of Finance, Analysis of Financial Statements. The Macroeconomics part of the course will introduce students to national income accounting, inflation, unemployment, and economic growth.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Understand the role of the finance function of an organisation and to gain an understanding of the financial environment in which it operates. Assessing financial markets and alternative sources of finance to meet organisational finance requirements. Evaluate the performance of company using financial statement analysis. Understand the basics of national income accounting. Understand the engines of economic growth. Understand why the behavior of businesses and the rest of the world determine the aggregate supply of goods and services.
